Water Heaters

Does your water heater not have enough hot water? There are many reasons for this, but most are repairable. If your pilot light won’t stay lit, I can help you. If you have water on the floor around your water heater, there are a couple of solutions. Does your water have a bad smell? There is also a remedy for that.

There are numerous problems with water heaters that a knowledgeable plumber can easily repair before considering replacement; I would like to be that plumber for you.

Disposals

I suggest at least a ½ Hp. unit. In most cases a 1/3 Hp. is not ample for the job. Disposals get jammed and often times need a professional to remedy this situation. All disposals have a reset button on the bottom or on the side near the electrical wire. In most cases if the reset button pops out, the disposal is jammed. If water drips from your disposal, it is time to get a new unit. If you see white spots on the outside just above the outlet pipe, it is about time for a replacement. These spots are corrosion eating from the inside out.

Tip:  Ice will clean your disposal; citrus rinds will make it smell nice.

Toilets

Though there are many types of toilets, most are repairable. If your toilet must be replaced, I have the best solution. Most toilets are now engineered to flush well still only using the government allowed 1.6 gallons. If your toilet is leaking around the base, the wax seal may be compromised and the toilet needs to be pulled and reset. It is possible that the water is coming from higher up; if this is the case, you may have a hairline crack in the tank. When your toilet flushes on its own, it is losing water from the tank and needs a flush seal. Fill valves fill your tank though sometimes they do not fully shut off or they take a long time to fill. Fill valves can be repaired, or replaced if necessary.
